Chaise design from ArtCenter days. Press release follows:
WMchaise is LA import Frank Osborn’s furniture design debut, and this oversized lounger begs the question: “Might one desire to face a companion while relaxing?“
Osborn draws inspiration for this piece from bourgeois salon furnishings of the 18th and 19th century, imagery from Celtic tapestries depicting the love embrace, and über-sleek concept car design. Featuring a nearly bilateral symmetry, the lounger offers two organically mirrored seats, calling to mind the slight differences between left and right halves of a human face.
Offered in over 1200 custom colors, WMchaise’s resin shell is treated with a high gloss clearcoat to protect from sun damage. The optional skin-tight cover (not shown) is a high-gloss vinyl, thinly padded, slick and silicone-like to the touch, offered in a broad range of colors, and zips on and off easily.
